Greetings Fellow Nigerians
Concerning the State of the Nigerian Nation on the NationWide Protest by Nigerians, especially the Nigerian Youths Against Bad Governance in Nigeria schedule from 1st of August 2024.
I say SayNoToViolence.
Dialogue is the best Option.
I STAND IN SOLIDARITY
with Nigerians and the Nigeria Youths to a PEACEFUL PROTEST in calling out the Nigerian Government against Bad Governance.
Peaceful Protest is Our Right and Protesters MUST be Protected at all cost.
I call on Nigerians to embrace Peace and dialogue as a means to air their grievances against the government.
I call on the Youths, Civil Society organisations, Youths groups, Youth leaders and fellow Nigerians that if they must protest, it must be Peaceful and without any form of violence.
I would like to call on the Nigerian government, the Nigerian Army, the Nigerian police and other Nigerian security agencies that Nigerians, Nigerian Youths have the Right to a Peaceful protest if they choose to.
The Right to Protest is a fundamental human right and Protests play an important role in the civil, political, economic, social and cultural life of all societies.
It is the responsibility of the Nigerian Government, the Nigerian Army and other security agencies to protect Peaceful Protesters, which I know they have continually failed to do, it is the responsibility of the Nigerian Police force and the Nigerian Army to avoid any humanitarian crisis due to a Peaceful protest.
I am Speaking out loudly, calling out the Nigerian government, the Nigerian Army, the Nigerian police and other Nigerian security agencies that this peaceful protests should not be like the ENDSARS MOVEMENT where a lot of Nigerians and Protesters were killed on the streets across Nigeria.
Thousands of Nigerians marched in a peaceful protest against police brutality as part of the #EndSARS movement.
The movement aimed to draw attention to human rights violations committed by the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS).
In multiple cases, the security forces used excessive force in an attempt to control or stop the protests. Victims include protesters and others who were allegedly hired by the authorities to confront the protesters.
It will be a national disgrace and shame if the Nigerian government, the Nigerian Army, the Nigerian police and other Nigerian security agencies cannot protect peaceful civilians who are protesting and turn around to be the ones abusing or killing them.
I am calling on the International community, the United Nations Commission on Human Rights, International Human Rights Commission, the Human Rights Council, members of international diplomatic corp and the Amnesty International to join in the call for the Federal Government of Nigeria, the Nigerian Police and others to protect the right of peaceful protesters and to avoid any form of intimidation, abuse, or violation of the human rights of citizens.
The Nigerian People are Not Slaves, they are all citizens of Nigeria and have the Rights to Speak out and ask for accountability and good governance from elected leaders and public office holders and it is the duty of the Nigerian Government to resolve these issues through dialogue and not with force or intimidation.
Lastly and finally, I want to remind the Nigerian government , the Nigerian Army, the Nigerian police and other Nigeria security agencies that come August 1st 2024 . The world will be watching as Nigerians Protest peacefully against Bad Governance and seek for answers and solutions from their leaders.
I would Speak Up and Raise my voice through whatever means possible against any violations of human rights, or any violence against peaceful Protesters being abused or killed. Peace is possible, through Peaceful DIALOGUE.
Together we Pray for a Peaceful world where everyone can live in Peace and harmony.
